Momend was formed in 2009 by Strūbergs and drummer Normans Bārbals. In 2011 Momend won several local new band competitions and recorded their debut album “Episodes of Trust”, released in 2012 under Latvian independent label I Love You Records.

After a few line-up changes Momend toured extensively, performing at all the biggest festivals in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and in Sweden as an opening act for the well-known Swedish artist Jens Lekman. Momend has also shared the stage with Estonian bands Ewert and The Two Dragons and Sibyl Vane, and the British band Sons of Noel and Adrian.

The band’s second album “Spirals” (2014) marks a transition from their debut album towards rockier sound and more complicated song
